چکیده

Sequential rendering methods for the graphical representation of Julia sets are compared. Two groups of methods are presented. In the rst, the attractor of the Julia set is rendered and, in the second, the complement of the attractor is rendered. Examples of images obtained using these methods are also given.

Generation of 3D Fractal Images for Mandelbrot and Julia Sets

Fractals provide an innovative method for generating 3D images of real-world objects by using computational modelling algorithms based on the imperatives of self-similarity, scale invariance, and dimensionality. Images such as coastlines, terrains, cloud mountains, and most interestingly, random shapes composed of curves, sets of curves, etc. present a multivaried spectrum of fractals usage in ...

Fast Volume Rendering of Sparse Datasets Using Adaptive Mesh Refinement

In this paper we present an algorithm that accelerates 3D texturebased volume rendering of large and sparse data sets. A hierarchical data structure (known as AMR tree) consisting of nested uniform grids is employed in order to efficiently encode regions of interest. The hierarchies resulting from this kind of space partitioning yield a good balance between the amount of volume to render and th...

Control and Synchronization of Julia Sets Generated by a Class of Complex Time-delay Rational Map∗

In this paper, a class of complex time-delay rational map is studied by analyzing the fractal and dynamical properties of its corresponding Julia sets (CTRM-Julia sets for short). By utilizing these given properties, a hybrid control method which contains both state feedback and parameters perturbation is applied to achieve the boundary control of CTRM-Julia set. Moreover, the synchronization o...

Particle-based Rendering for Porous Media

Particle-based modeling and simulation of granular or porous media is a widely-used tool in physics and material science to study behavior like fracture and failure under external force. Classical models use spherical particles. However, up to 108 polyhedral-shaped particles are required to achieve realistic results comparable to laboratory experiments. As contact points and exposed surfaces pl...

Methods and Applications to Display Quaternion Julia Sets

After explaining the details of an efficient technique, developed in early 1980s, to plot digital images of quaternion filled-in Julia sets, later considerations on it will introduce a new modification for displaying such sets with no interior too. A step by step description via pseudo-C++ is given. The reader is assumed to be familiar with advanced programming and quaternion calculus.
